Who got government grants this week

Funding for the weeks of Jan. 28, under Canadian federal and provincial grants and business incentive programs, reached $76M, down from $403.6M during the previous week.

Top Sector. The municipal and nonprofit sector ranked first, attracting $23.9M, 31% of total incentives.

Top Region. BC is the top province this week, securing $36.8M and accounting for 48% of total national disbursements.

Top Recipients in Ontario.

  • Mississauga-based Imtex Membranes receives $6M from the SD Tech Fund to deliver significant energy and emissions reductions in petrochemical operations, notably vehicle tire production.
  • Queen’s University gets $4.6M from SSHRC to support 92 researchers.
  • Kids Help Phone attracts $1.69M from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to improve settlement services.
