$6.5M in Grants Available for Protection of BC Caribou Habitat

The Government of British Columbia is providing $6.5M in grants over three years for caribou habitat restoration.

Quick Facts.

  • The Habitat Conservation Trust Foundation’s (HCTF) Caribou Habitat Restoration Fund will administer the funding.
  • Projects will focus on restoring habitat through functional and ecological approaches, such as planting trees, spreading coarse woody debris, installing fences, and encouraging native plants and trees.
  • Funding is available to First Nations, government, industry and nonprofits.
  • The deadline is Nov. 1.
