BDC: Small Business Week 2020 How government grants and incentives can help Startups and SMEs move forward in uncertain times.

Small Business Week

October 18-24 2020 is small business week

This year’s annual BDC Small Business* Week, taking place October 18-24, 2020, is focused on helping SME’s and Start-Up organizations forge a way forward. Small business week 2020 celebrates the triumphs and successes of Canadian entrepreneurs and their contributions to Canada’s economy while addressing what one of our nation’s hardest-hit economic pillars can do to stay resilient during times of turbulence.

*small businesses are defined as any business employing under 99 employees.

2020 has been a challenging year for many small businesses, but many businesses have pivoted to meet challenges head-on.

“In 2020, SMEs and Startups have demonstrated true resiliency and tenacity,”  said Alexandria Shannon, President of Fundingportal. “This year we have seen significant support from municipal sectors, provincial leaders and the federal government for small businesses through grants and incentives. It is a privilege to help businesses access these critical sources of new funding.”
