Program #1. The Pop-up City: Integrated Energy, Water and Waste Management Systems for Deployed Camps

  • Funder: National Defence, Innovation for Defence Excellence and Security (IDEaS) Program
  • Description: “Pop up City” is a multi-phased contest for energy-efficient, integrated and scalable energy, water, and waste management systems for relocatable temporary camps housing 150 to 1,500 people.
  • Max. Amount: This program is a contest that will have four competitive rounds, culminating in a $2M grant.
    Round 1: $10k grant
    Round 2: $50k grant
    Round 3: $1.5M contribution
    Round 4: $2M grant
  • Eligibility: Post-secondary institutions, nonprofits, government organizations, for-profits, clusters.
  • Deadline: Nov. 1

Program #2. Foot-and-mouth Disease Vaccine Matching

  • Funder: Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED), sponsored by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) under the Innovative Solutions Canada Program
  • Description: This program is seeking a solution that will use predictive computer models for Foot-and-Mouth disease vaccine matching.
  • Max. Amount: $100k contract in Phase 1, followed by a $350k contract in Phase 2
  • Eligibility: SMEs
  • Deadline: Oct. 29

Program #3. Hybrid Ceramic Powder Processing System

  • Funder: Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED), sponsored by the National Research Council (NRC) under the Innovative Solutions Canada Program
  • Description: This program is seeking a ceramic powder processing solution that will upgrade raw ceramic powder into a hybrid carbon nanotube ceramic powder.
  • Max. Amount: $150k contract in Phase 1, followed by a $1M contract in Phase 2
  • Eligibility: SMEs
  • Deadline: Oct. 29

Program #4. Stable Liposomes as Drug Carriers

  • Funder: Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED), sponsored by the National Research Council (NRC) under the Innovative Solutions Canada Program
  • Description: This program is seeking stable liposome formulations to support the development of drug product submissions, streamline the regulatory approval process, and improve the manufacturability of drug delivery formulations.
  • Max. Amount: $150k contract in Phase 1, followed by a $1M contract in Phase 2
  • Eligibility: SMEs
