Critical Broadband Funding Starts to Flow in Tennessee

U.S. Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue has announced that Tennessee will receive the first of many federal investments supporting the creation of critical broadband infrastructure in underserved areas across the USA.

Quick Facts.

  • A $2.85M grant will support Internet connectivity in 347 households in Halls, TN, as well as one community facility in rural Lauderdale County.
  • The money will flow under the ReConnect Program grant.
  • Congress has provided $600M to expand broadband infrastructure and services in the rural United States.
  • More funding will be announced later this year.
