The Government of Alberta has announced that it has reopened the Project-Based stream of its Community Initiatives Program. The Program was paused in May to reallocate funding to support frontline efforts during the pandemic.
What is the Community Initiatives Program Project-Based grant stream?
This program provides grants to support events, festivals, programs, and projects. This year, projects must align with public health measures. The maximum grant is $75,000 per project.
Which types of organizations can apply?
Nonprofit organizations, First Nations, Metis Settlements, foundations, and post-secondary institutions in Alberta are eligible. Of the province’s 26,000 nonprofits, approximately 800 of these receive funding each year.
What is the deadline?
The deadline to apply is Sept. 15. Successful applicants will be notified in March.
