Who Got Government Grants This Week

Funding for the week of Apr. 22 under Canadian federal and provincial grants and business incentive programs reached $901.4M, up from $820.5M during the previous week.

Top Sector. The transportation sector ranked first, attracting $308.3M, 34% of total incentives.

Top Region. BC is the top province this week, securing $565.4M and accounting for 63% of total national disbursements.

Top Recipients in Ontario.

  • The Bioproducts Cluster, led by Bioindustrial Innovation Canada, receives $11.2M under the Canadian Agricultural Partnership to support cutting-edge research to develop new applications for farm crops and residues. 
  • Conestoga Meats in Breslau gets $10M in repayable funding under the AgriInnovate program to upgrade its facilities and install a state-of-the-art cooling system. 
  • Riverside Natural Foods Ltd. in Vaughan attracts $8.5M in repayable funding from AgriInnovate to modernize their MadeGoodTM Foods line of products.
